This is a poster for the 1975 animated feature, 'Coon Skin', by Ralph Bakshi. Chairman Elaine Parker led Harlem CORE in attempts to shut down showings of this movie and stop it from appearing in theaters. The demonstrations were part of a larger CORE campaign targeting the exploitation by the movie industry of the black community.
The movie was soon banned but has become a cult classic in many circles, including the Hip-Hop community where it is often sampled.
